Mission Over Mars is a charming show with formidable performances from Sakshi Tanwar, Mona Singh and Ashish Vidyarthi. The first five episodes available on both Zee5 and ALTBalaji OTT platforms.
MOM - Mission Over Mars Review:슬롯 머신 사이트 추천ALTBalaji and Zee5's latest web-series, MOM - Mission Over Mars comes at a very interesting juncture. It is out merely days after the release of the film, Mission Mangal, that has a similar premise and is still drawing in the crowds. It also comes at the wake of the real-life Chandrayaan 2 mission that is making headlines for the twisty turn of how events panned out. With a cast involving heavyweights like Sakshi Tanwar and Mona Singh, Mission Over Mars has in it to turn out to be an engaging watch. And for most of the part, the show, directed by슬롯 머신 사이트 추천Vinay Waikul of The Test Case fame, is exactly that! (the review is based on the first five episodes available on both Zee5 and ALTBalaji OTT platforms).슬롯 머신 사이트 추천MOM: Mission Over Mars Trailer Review: Sakshi Tanwar and Mona Singh Take Lead in This Promising ALTBalaji Web-Series (Watch Video).
Mission Over Mars and Mission Mangal share the same inspiration - Mangalyaan, the successful launch of India's satellite in the Mars atmosphere by ISRO in 2014 at the tiny fraction of the budget of NASA's similar mission. Like Mission Mangal, the web-series takes a fictional route to pay tribute to the real-life achievement and the heroes. So ISRO becomes ISA, NASA becomes ASI and so on.
The focus is on Nandita Hariprasad (Sakshi Tanwar) and her team at ISA, including the hyperactive Moushumi Ghosh (Mona Singh), a superstitious Neetu Sinha (Nidhi Singh) and the bizarre Meghan Reddy (Palomi Ghosh). Together, they figure out how to make Mission Over Mars a success, while battling innumerable roadblocks like red-tapism, bureaucracy, budget constraints and various failures to launch.
Again, like with Mission Mangal, MOM has its share of strengths and fallacies. Talking about the fallacies first, some of the supporting characters feel very caricatured. There is also no escaping the low-cost feel that the show has, just like the mission it is trying to recreate. Also the sometimes excruciating BG score is used as a filler in scenes where there is no need for.
And yet I would like to give an edge to Mission Overs Mars over Mission Mangal, for having a more focused narrative, more room to flesh out the two main leads who drive the story, and resist the temptation of going bombastic (though, the jingoism could have been reined in) with no big monologues.
I know it isn't fair to compare both the commodities due to the various different parameters applicable. Especially so, since MOM has more runtime to expand its narrative and work out its characters in better ways. But, unlike Mission Mangal, it doesn't try to typecast its leads in specific brackets, for which I am a lot grateful to. Also, it doesn't gloss over the challenges that the team faces, instead, giving them enough time and constraints to work them out. This makes Mission Over Mars' narrative a more grounded and often believable affair.
The focus is mostly on Nandita and Moushumi, two brilliant ISA scientists who are trying to figure out the biggest mission of their career, while sidelining their own personal issues. Nandita is the슬롯 머신 사이트 추천no-nonsense슬롯 머신 사이트 추천mission leader, who takes a very calculative approach to working things out, while also bringing her team members in control. Especially Moushumi - the occasionally overenthusiastic but driven engineer.슬롯 머신 사이트 추천ALTBalaji슬롯사이트™s MOM 슬롯사이트 Mission Over Mars Poster: Sakshi Tanwar and Mona Singh Bring Incredible Story of India슬롯사이트™s Space Mission to Mars (View Pics).
MOM feels equally the story of Moushumi just as it is about conquering Mars. The series begins with a young Moushumi solving a complex formula, and stumping the misogynistic education inspector with her knowledge and ambitions. As an adult, she is hounded by the failure of her last mission, the blame of which is pinned on her. She also is guilty over not being a good mother to her daughter. But it has not dampened her spirits, making Moushumi a worthy hero among the mortals.
It is also interesting to see that the makers are not averse to sharing their flaws with us. Nandita may be quite level-headed at her work-place, but not so cool at her home, where she tries to be more privy of her son's affairs. Moushumi, on the other hand, is too enthused about her job, and takes everything upon herself, often overriding others in the process. I am also liking her arc with her supportive daughter and her ex-husband (who is also her colleague). Together, they give Mission Over Mars, the kind of dynamic that makes it very highly watchable.

Compared to these two leads, Neetu and Meghan get less scope, though I expect that to be rectified in the later episodes. Neetu finds the Mars mission comes in the way of her and her husband (Suhaas Ahuja)'s plans to start a family, making her wonder why she can't have both. Meanwhile, the Sheldon Cooper-like Meghan is trying to find the most compatible mate for herself, but has to work things with a candidate who is 45% her suitability. While a potentially fascinating character, she is the one who has got the least to do, save for in the fifth episode.
The슬롯 머신 사이트 추천entire cast슬롯 머신 사이트 추천do a more than decent job with their roles. But it is Sakshi Tanwar and Mona Singh who power Mission Over Mars to greater horizons. Sakshi's elegant but grounded performance makes슬롯 머신 사이트 추천Nandita슬롯 머신 사이트 추천very relatable. She manages to bring out two convincing personas within the same character - a temperamental leader and a nosy mother - with the kind of dexterity that shows her class and experience.
Mona Singh is the soul of Mission Over Mars, making every tic of her character charming without an iota of irksome. It is her likeable act that makes us root for her, when she stands up to her stubborn colleagues and a distrustful minister (Mona Ambegaonkar) championing for her mission. A fine performance indeed!
Among the supporting cast, Ashish Vidyarthi lends in a dignified act as trusting mission director, who doesn't want to overshadow his team and yet push them towards the right direction.
Final Thoughts
From the five episodes that I saw, I found Mission Over Mars to be a charming show with formidable performances from Sakshi Tanwar, Mona Singh and Ashish Vidyarthi. Sure, the show is held back by the constraints of its space. But within its limitations, Mission Over Mars manages to create a very endearing drama that has focus and protagonists worth rooting for!
