Reports surfaced last month that India and Russia had moved closer in finalising a deal of $2.2-billion for acquiring four advanced warships for the Indian Navy. India is likely to procure our advanced Talwar-class frigates under project 11356 for the Navy. Two of the ships will be manufactured at the Goa Shipyard, while the rest will be bought directly from Russia슬롯사이트™s Yantar shipyard.

On August 31, The Ministry of Defence (MoD) approved the acquisition of 6.5 lakh assault rifles, under 슬롯사이트œMake in India슬롯사이트� program. The Indian Army issued a Request for Information (RFI) for the purchase of 7.62x39 square mm calibre assault rifles. The new rifles should have an effective range of 300 metres. India will most likely procure Russian company Kalashnikov Concern슬롯사이트™s AK-103 assault rifles. The rifle is a derivative of the iconic AK-47 rifle. The AK-103 can be fitted with a variety of sights, including night vision and telescopic sights. In addition to this, it has an option of fitting a knife-bayonet or a grenade launcher.

Meanwhile, reacting to India슬롯사이트™s S-400 deal with Russia, The US President Donald Trump said that India 슬롯사이트œwill soon find out슬롯사이트� about his decision on the punitive CAATSA. India last week inked a $5 billion deal to purchase S-400 Triumf air defence system from Russia. The mega-deal was sealed in New Delhi during the visit of the Russian President for the annual summit with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
