And repeating the norm this year too, the Income Tax Department on June 22 said that the Income Tax Return filing for the assessment year 2022-23 is available on the e-filing portal.

It must be noted that the Income Tax Act 1961 makes it mandatory for a taxpayer to file an income tax return under various scenarios.
