Lucknow, January 14: The Uttar Pradesh police on Sunday, January 12, arrested a 30-year-old man for allegedly raping his 16-year-old niece in Muzaffarnagar district. Police officials said that the accused raped his niece at his aunt's house while delivering a wedding invitation to his sister in a village in Muzaffarnagar. The incident came to light after the rape survivor's grandmother lodged a complaint.

In her complaint, the victim's grandmother said that her grandchildren live with her as their parents are separated. According to a report in , the incident occurred on Saturday, January 11.
