In a major development, the Rajasthan Royals (RR) have been accused of match-fixing, after their narrow defeat to the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in IPL 2025 on April 19. Chasing 181 to win at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur, Rajasthan Royals needed to score nine runs off the final over but fell agonisingly short of the target by just two runs, succumbed to their sixth defeat of IPL 2025. That defeat has kept Rajasthan Royals in the bottom half of the IPL 2025 points table and their chances of qualifying for the playoffs have also taken a massive hit. Amidst this, the team has been hit with this massive allegation. According to a report in News18 Rajasthan, Jaideep Bihani, the convenor of the Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) ad hoc committee, came up with allegations after the inaugural IPL champions lost to LSG at home. Jaideep Bihani levelled these allegations as per the report, stating that not many runs were needed off the last over and Rajasthan Royals also had wickets in hand. The report also added that Jaideep Bihani questioned why Rajasthan Royals lost the match from such a situation and said even kids would look at the game and say that it was fixed. 14-Year-Old Vaibhav Suryavanshi Joins Andre Russell, Others in Elite Company Following Debut During RR vs LSG IPL 2025 Match (Watch Video).

Besides this, he was also pretty unhappy with the Zila Parishad taking control of handling affairs during IPL 2025, with RCA's ad-hoc committee not having a say. "The ad hoc committee has been appointed by the state government in Rajasthan. It has extended for a fifth time. We make sure all competitions take place without any issues. But then, just as IPL came, the Zila Parishad (district council) took control of it. For IPL, the BCCI had first sent a letter to RCA only, not the Zila Parishad. The excuse given by them and RR is that we don't have an MoU from Sawai Mansingh Stadium. If the MoU is not there, so what? Aren't you paying Zila Parishad for every match?" he said, as quoted by News18.

Sanju Samson did not feature in Rajasthan Royals' loss to the Lucknow Super Giants in IPL 2025 as he was out with an abdominal injury. It was Riyan Parag who captained RR in his absence. Rajasthan Royals' Vaibhav Suryavanshi attracted the spotlight as he became the youngest player to make IPL debut and sparkled with a 34-run knock off 20 balls.
