Andre Russell has dismissed Harshal Patel and KKR have won this contest by 80 runs! What an all-round performance this has been by the defending champions as they register their first win at home and second overall this season! KKR also continue their good form against Sunrisers Hyderabad. This win will give KKR a lot of confidence as they bounce back from that loss to Mumbai Indians a few days ago. It has been a great outing for Ajinkya Rahane who have ticked a number of boxes en route to this win. Sunrisers Hyderabad on the other hand, have now lost their third match in a row and they need some serious rethinking to do. Their explosive top-order flopped once again and the rest of the batting followed. On the field, they were sloppy as well as they allowed KKR to post a good total after keeping things relatively tight in the first 10 overs. Earlier, KKR seemed to be eyeing a score of around 180 with them being 122/4 in 15 overs. Angkrish Raghuvanshi scored his second IPL fifty and it needed a big finish from the defending champions to post a fighting score. And Venkatesh Iyer and Rinku Singh did just that. KKR's most expensive signing smashed 60 runs off just 29 balls while Rinku Singh struck 32 off 17 as the defending champions scored 78 runs in the last five overs to score 200/6. With the ball in hand, it was Vaibhav Arora (3/29) and Harshit Rana (1/15) who set the tone earlier as they sent back SRH's explosive top-order in the hut in quick time and Varun Chakaravarthy then made his presence felt with figures of 3/22. SRH were 9/3 at one stage and they never looked to be in any sort of control in this run-chase. Heinrich Klaasen tried hard with 33 runs but his dismissal was the final nail in the coffin for the Sunrisers Hyderabad. Andre Russell also picked up two wickets while Sunil Narine got one. KKR next take on LSG on April 8 at the same venue in an afternoon match while SRH next head home to host Gujarat Titans on April 6.
